WELCOME TO HEARTHSIDE CATS

Hearthside Cats is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Geneseo, New York, 30 miles south of Rochester. We rescue and provide medical care to homeless cats and kittens in our area while striving to promote public awareness and responsible pet ownership. Our wonderful cats are all housed in volunteer foster homes and are available for adoption to homes that guarantee that our cats will be not be declawed and will be indoor only family members. Since 1991, we have helped over 1,500 cats and kittens.

Gourmet Italian Dinner to Benefit Hearthside Cats

A great Valentine’s Day outing! Hearthside Cats’ annual Gourmet Italian Dinner will be on Friday, February 12th at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Parish Center, North Street, Geneseo. This authentic, multi-course feast is prepared and presented by Lynn Kennison and her skilled crew of volunteers. It’s a night of fabulous food and great fun, including a silent wine auction and door prizes. Seating is limited, so make reservations early. Tickets are $30. All proceeds directly benefit homeless cats and kittens in our area.

Hearthside Launches "Kitty Kompanions" Program

To expand our service to the community and place more adult cats in loving homes, we are launching a program called "Kitty Kompanions". This program places calm, indoor adult cats with local senior citizens who would enjoy the company of a kitty, without some of the worries and expense that go with pet ownership. Just in time for the Holidays, we are offering two new books for sale - "The Comfort of Cats" by Pamela Wallin and "The Dog Rules" by William Thomas. Lost and Found Advice

We receive many phone calls from people seeking help in finding a lost cat or in finding the owners of a cat they have found. To offer imediate assistance, we are posting our advice here on our website. Not only will you find general suggestions, but emergency contacts and links to local organizations that be able to help as well. Click here for more information.

Hooked on a Feline

We are proud to offer the charming new book "Hooked on a Feline: Basic Cat Care from a Different Purr-spective" by Taunee, as translated and lovingly illustrated by Barbara Mugnolo-Williams. Containing over 150 gorgeous line drawings, this book is a humorous no-nonsense approach to cat care. A portion of the proceeds generated from book sales will be donated to Hearthside Cats by the generous authors! Click here for more information.
